it depends on how many keys needed to play msx correctly, i'm no much familiar with this computer/console. there are 6 buttons available on the pad, i've played some games it looked to be enough, if not i can map some keys to the second pad.

That'd be great. What I meant to say, actually, if there would be an option for the end user (ex. all of us) to remap at will.
Since it's more of a computer rather than a console, there are plenty of games with their own key mapping.
It would prove to be pretty tedious for you to assign them accordingly one by one. Just a thought.

I suppose it could be more work but some emulators put a virtual keyboard on screen with some key or button.

I remember in some Xbox 8 bits computers emulators...
