Take the Bullet was a planned light gun video game for Sega Dreamcast from Red Lemon Studios. Unusually for its genre, it showed the character's weapon on screen as in a first-person shooter, had an optional third-person view and was slated to have both online and split-screen multiplayer modes.
Story
The player plays as Jack Travis, a bodyguard for a political candidate named Kincaide during his campaign. He is being targeted by a gang named The Children of Gabrielle.
Cancellation
The game was originally announced for a Christmas 1999 release in Europe.[1] This date was missed. As of March 2001, it was still planned for release, but never actually came out. It was never planned for release in North America. [2]

Sega unleashes details on new shooter for the Dreamcast featuring modem deathmatch play.
By Sam Kennedy, GameSpotPosted May 25, 1999 4:11 pm PT
Sega of Europe announced the latest addition to the European Dreamcast on Tuesday, Take The Bullet (TTB). Developed by Red Lemon Studios (a 1.5 party developer for Sega), TTB is the latest game to make use of the Dreamcast light gun.
Set in America during the late sixties, Take The Bullet lets you play the role of Jack Travis, a bodyguard hired to protect presidential candidate Kincaide during his election campaign. You must also coordinate your efforts with the rest of your bodyguard team to successfully ensure Kincaide's safety - which happens to be in great jeopardy due to a gang of thugs called Children of Gabrielle, which is out to put and end to him.
Like other light-gun shooters such as House of the Dead 2 on the Dreamcast, Take The Bullet displays all the action in a first-person perspective. However, the game also gives players the option to view all the action in a third-person mode, where the character is seen in front of the action.
Take the Bullet features 12 levels for players to blast their way through, with an arsenal of 18 high-powered weapons. The game will also offer multiplayer modes, including four-player action at home and through the use of the modem, and sixteen-player death match online.
Red Lemon Studios' Take The Bullet is scheduled for a Christmas 1999 release in Europe. According to a spokesperson for Sega of America, the game hasn't yet been planned for a US release.

Red Lemon Studios' shooter won't be released in North America, but it is still on schedule for a European release.
By Staff, GameSpotPosted Mar 19, 2001 8:26 pm PT
Sega of America has confirmed that Take The Bullet for the Dreamcast is still on schedule for its release in the European market. The shooting game, which is being developed by Red Lemon Studios, will not be released in North America. "There are currently no plans to release Take The Bullet in America," an SOA spokesperson told GameSpot. "It is a strictly European title that was not considered for a US release."
In the game, players assume the role of Jack Travis, a bodyguard who is hired to protect Kincaide, a presidential candidate. The game has a total of 12 levels, and players will have more than 18 weapons at their disposal. Take The Bullet should be released in Europe this year."

Take the Bullet, viento en popa
